Well, back home, got it mounted, but I have been told by a few that when on SSB it all over the place for freq drift. Any ideas??

Is the frequency drift only when you have the amp on? I never ran it on ssb,it was mounted in the dump truck along with a Galaxy 66.The only time I did use it on ssb was rite before the sale to see the output. If there is something wrong with it a thousasnd apologies.I certainly would never try to stick someone else with something that was going to give them problems.Let me know how it works out if it turns out to be a problem with the amp if need be send me a pm and we can work something out.I would be willing to help with the cost of repairing it. Embarassed Shawn

Shawn,
I rather like it but was wondering if I did something wrong?

I'd suspect radio first, amp second...when was the last time you had the radio aligned (aligned by a real tech)?

Radio is 3 months old, aligned prior to being shipped to me by Sparky's

Probably wouldn't hurt to have the SSB alignment checked...you read the deal I found with my Galaxy...

The best place local to use for fine tuning is DTB radio in Carlilse...neither papa bear or 2-watt have the equipment from what I've seen. If you go there, take the amp with you...he's pretty good with them too (I watched him fine tune a class C amp to make it a little cleaner while I was there)...

That's a little bit of a drive for me Sad I'm in Ontario away from all CB shops.

What goes into an ab-1 amp is what comes out. It is not the amp that causes the freq drift but the radio that causes it. exports suck.

OK, it only does it when I have the amp turned on. I'm told that 2 watt DK is too high for the amp, thoughts?

2 watt dead key is about rite for that amp.I hit it with 2/3 watts on am and it worked flawlessly.Shawn
