So, I got this nice little 2 pill from Shawn, got the extra coax for it, now just have to figure where to mount it. I drive a 05 GMC seirra extended cab so mounting it under the seat is not the best. I go on long trips which I would not normally use it then, plan to use it for around home turf. I thought of mounting it under the back seat but I will lose some long times storage. Ideas??

You wouldnt happen to have a water tight toolbox in the bed would you? That would be ideal as all you would have to do is run and hide coax out the back of the cab to the toolbox .The only downside to that is it would be inconvenient to get to to turn off and on or turn on the recieve amp on and off and so on.A lot of guys with pickups just sit the amp behind the seat but since you have ext.cab thats out.Im sure you will figure something out.Shawn

Well I run my DaveMade 2x4 under my drivers seat and it works pretty good there. You could always make a bracket and mount it under or on top of your radio. I mean it's only a two pill so the cabinet can't be that big.

Got the location all sorted, just lacking some wire for it. I plan on 8 guage but I'm trying to find some that doesn't cost me my whole pay. I just had it hooked up using jumper cables. With a 2 watt DK it was running at 125 watt and swing from the radio about 25 watt put it up to right around 200 watts.

Shanw does that sound right to you??

Sounds right for a set of 2290s or 455s...

I get almost 375 out of my 2-pill with 2879s...

If that's what you are getting, you're running 2 mrf 455's in there. 2290's would give you more. You need to lower the dead key in your radio, there's not enough room for swing deadkeying that high. I can help you with that. You don't want to drive 455's too hard or it will sound like dog **** in a blender.

Mount it away from your ecm whatever you do. that thing oughta be small enough to hide it easily. You can always rig up a remote for it. If you are getting 200 peak, i'd bet youre at most getting 100 avg, so you should look to dead key about 50 watts with the amp on. that will give you half your peak average and it will sound better. My 8 swings over 2000 but i only dead key about 600, because my peak average is only 1100. But like I always tell everyone, I dont know what I am talking about lol!

Hey guys, I'm out west getting ready to do some rock climbing. The amp is at home right now. I got the wire to wire it up while driving out. I'm alittle leary about cracking the case on it as its a Sparky radio with his seal on it. I was going to mount it under my radio.

cheers binrat
