In anyone was interested in doing this, rather than pay the $35 dollars that the amp builders charge, here are the directions on how to wire up a remote switch for your amplifier......

Parts needed....

1. Stereo phono jack (1/4")
2. Any type of wire. Actually the thinner the better.
3. Any type of switch you may want to use.

The stereo phono jack has 3 conductors, one on the end, middle, and shield for ground. Wire 2 wires to a switch and the other end to the tip of the connector and the other wire to the middle section - NOT the SHIELD. Leave the outer part disconnected. The wire can be small due to the fact the switch controls a relay anyway and has very low voltage. Once completed, it should look something like this:

And there you have it. Of course this will only work with the amplifiers that already have the 1/4" input from the builder.

I actually installed a 1/8" stereo jack into my 2-pill, and made a similar remote using a 1/8" stereo plug.

The main moral to this story is to use a STEREO plug and jack. A mono set grounds to the case, which will direct short when hooked to the amp (DON'T ask me how I know this...).

You can use a 1/8" connector for the smaller enclosures...mine works well in my 2-pill.

Steved is dead on the money......you must use a stereo plug....not mono!

Thats right, i found out too. But dont use too small wire, it restricts the current and slows down your fans (if you run a big box like mine, i havent corrected this problem yet, but its ok.) Also make sure you wire the switch rite, if you have a lighted switch, and you wire the constant hot to the acc part of the switch, you will find hot wires one day. Again i know that from experience.
