R&R is showing a 2-2sc2879 Texas Star box on their used equipment page for $135.00 Sure wish I was gainfully employed I would snag that puppy up.Would make a great driver for a straight 4,6or 8 pill box.Plus its a hi drive, can take up to a 7 watt dead key.Oh well maybe next time.I miss my little 2-2290 T.S. box. Crying or Very sad I got the real scoop on what happened there.....a little birdie told me he saw Malen bumping it down at 24 volts affraid Yup T.S. boxes dont like the volts like Fatboy comp boxes do.Thats ok Malen as long as you learn from your mistakes your still moving forward drunken Suspect Cool Laughing I love you I love you I love you Shawn....ps. honestly I have no idea what went wrong but my account sounded kinda funny so I ran with it Laughing Razz Embarassed Cool

I like the T.S. boxes cause they have the preamp and stuff built in.But yeah for bang for the buck the class c would be the way to go. Very Happy Shawn

Those T.S. boxes are ok (at best, IMO), for a clean SSB signal. And like Shawn said, it has the preamp. But preamps have been known to amplify a bunch of garbage white noise, so I find them useless....
Me personally (and this is just my preference), I would much rather have a class C box. They seem much louder, can produce more power, and can take an occasional beating from volting or long keydowns.....Not to mention, people say my Fatboy sounds just fine on sideband too......
