I took the Galaxy to DTB radio in Carlilse...he's a certified Galaxy shop. He aligned it, repaired it (the biasing circuit was toasted)...its as loud on AM as my 76 (and not clipped). I was accused of running an export on the way home from Washington this weekend...so I know its loud.

I am getting nothing but good reports on SSB...however, DTB indicated all of the newer galaxy radios are in bad shape (as far as tuning) from the factory.

Not sure if I'm going to part with my 76...I actually think I'm going to keep everything I have from now on...sold stuff, then ended up re-buying it.

Well, got it back today...it was a bad relay.

I was having issues with losing my RX, and toggling the on/off seemed to affect it sometimes. It got to the point I'd lose my RX when I'd unkey. Talked with Col., and he had me ship it back to the amp builder. They found a bad relay, which was replaced.

Can't say anything bad about the whole deal, Col. is excellent to deal with and the amp works great. Anyone could have a bad part, it happens.

I am now pushing it with this DX959...it doesn't hit as hard as the PC76, so I'm only seeing around 350 watts. The funny part is that I'm hitting the local shop with 9 s-units now, not 8 as before...so that is good thing.

The thing still talks good, SWRs don't jump around, so I should be putting the majority of that 350 watts on frequency. Heading to Washington on Friday, should be there sometime Sunday night...gives me lots of time to play.

No output filtering in that amp, hope you didnt pay for an output filtering section
