OK, so I was sort of bored / burned out from a hectic last 4 shifts. I hooked the old SWR meter up to my 94hp and checked it with the power turned down and then full blast. At 4 watts (approx) I had 1.1:1 on ch 1 and 1.2:1 on 40. At 40 watts (approx) I had on ch 1 1.5:1 and on 40 1.4:1.

I guess its time for some grounding to happen.
And yes I'm still burned out from work.

Grounding certainly wont hurt but dont expect it to magically cure what your seeing as far as readings. Many times with amplifiers or amplified radios the swr meter will pick up harmonics in the signal and mistakenly read them as higher swrs.In my setup my barefoot swr is 1.2,with the box on it jumps to like 1.7.If I had a true swr of 1.7 my box would fry in no time,I have been running the same box for several years and have had no problems whatsoever.Extra grounds will never hurt though, they say you can never have such a thing as too much ground.Peace,Shawn

I will be getting my new meter on Wed night, so if I'm slacking at work I'll check it out again. The plan is in place to start ground next week at work as well.

cheers
