Right now I have a 80-10 metre dipole. I need to put up a 2 metre antenna as well as a 11 metre antennas. I figure a rigid 2 metre dipole made from cb antennas mounted vertical. The 11 metre antenna, I have a 99 and a rat shack 5/8 wave. I'm thinking the rat shack antenna at about 50'. This would go with a galaxy base and a MS250 amp. The 2 metre rig is a converted commercial radio set up for all the local repeaters (within 100 miles).

I dont have a clue about 2 meters but YES I would agree to go with the Rat Shack 5/8...it is most likely the Archer which were an awesome antenna to have come from The Shack.Over the years I have heard many people say they wished they had that particular antenna back because they feel it is superior to what is widely available today.On a side note you could always throw up the A99 too as a monitoring antenna for another channel.Hook it up to a cheap or spare radio.I do it down here most of the time.Shawn
