Well if enough of you homos want it I will buy 1000 ft of it, but at 800 some dollars I'm not just gonna go buy that much! haha.
it costs me 88 cents a foot, so if you guys are willing to pay 96 cents a foot for it, I will buy 1000 feet of it. That will cover the tax and I might make 10 bucks on the deal which might buy me little free coax. Let alone I will have to front out 880.00 for the roll.

I am putting the coax up tomorrow. I soldered the one end on, this is hard **** to work with, haha. The center conductor barely fits in the pl-259 its so damn thick, so it took a bit to solder that ****. But i guess for something that is rated at 3700 watts constant it better be. Bad thing is if you bend it too much while trying to get the dielectric and shield off it will break the center conductor rather easily. Oh well. Going to make an 8 wrap choke balun at the feedpoint of the antenna, between that and the lowpass filter and the fact that i'm using all together better coax and running a new ground for the antenna, I should hopefully eliminate the TVI issues here. Wish me luck.

It worked. I'm tired, making an 8 turn balun with this coax is no joke, I think I have windburn from being up on the roof.
Good news is the v-5000 held up really well over the winter, it's starting to corrode though, but i guess it's nothing to worry about since nothing has changed in the swrs.

Dude I have an old and I mean old Shakespheare Big Stick 2 piecer, they havent made a 2 piece big stick for probably 20 years. It still works with low swrs and if you touch it its like touching a cactus.Dont worry your antenna should give you several years more of usable service. If you really are worried about it,take it down, give it a good scrubbing with some fine sandpaper and get some Spar Varnish. It will look like new again and be protected from further deterioration for a couple years at least.Shawn
