| The cobra if done right will win hands down in a stock final to stock final key down.  |

| i would also think a peaked & tuned cobra 29 WITH A STOCK FINAL would out power a peaked & tuned 959 with a stock final. no offense, but in my experience, any galaxy with a 3 number digit is garbage.  |

| Well, my old 29 had a 1969 chip in it and my new 979 gets out better on AM. just my $.02 binrat |

There's your problem, the 1969 final swap is garbage in my opinion. A stock final is better because it keeps more watts on frequency. When most people put a 1969 final in they try and volt it out and it creates a lot of harmonics and spurious transmissions. |

If I ever get my bench set back up, I'll redo that radio for free and you can see the difference for yourself. |

| I just got all my stuff in order for the most part, it's time to do a little tuning on a $13 special, which btw thanks shawn. if I can't get what I want outta this radio you want it back? lol I'm not much for the ST 25s, need more of a straight LTD 25 for bashful to use in the car. |

| I have faith, but need the RF pot for a variable mod. I don't like knobs through the case, not to mention this will be an in dash install in the mirage. |
