New faceplate came in today so I spent quite a while ever so carefully removing the original plate from the original bezel.Since the only available faceplates are rather thin the old stiff one will be used as backing.Between soakings in gasoline and some tedious work it was off,one small crack but hey it will cover just fine noone will ever notice. So the new plate is adhered so Im patiemtly waiting for the mail man to bring me my bezel, then the face will be complete.Radio should be up at 2Watts shop this weekend.Going to just leave it so he can take his time and do it rite. While its there probly have him put a new set of chrome covers on it and that should about complete it.Shawn

Yes,the radio was completely done by 2 watt including the mod/swing kit, probly 15 years ago hahaha.Since he did all the work I figured I would give him the chance to take care of the squealing problem. And the freq thing is just a cold joint of bad trace. One thing I must say is 2watt has always been very fair financially to me,so if it costs me a couple bucks and Im not satisfied I will suck it up and box her up and send her to Sparkys.Shawn

Bezel came today so the face is complete.2Watt was up on Happy Valley tonight so I gave him the chassis, thats basically all it is rite now since its been completely stripped.Unfortunately Im going to have to order new covers off Evilbay,or maybe give Sparkys a call...he must have them in stock.2Watt stopped carrying them a while ago when the econemy went south. He tries to keep as little on hand as possible since people really arent spending and its just overhead for him.So yup little by little shes coming together.Shawn

Chassis is back.Been running on power supply since late Friday night after I picked it back up from 2watt on the Valley of Happiness. So far so good as far as frequency issues, set it on ch. 40 and it hasnt budged. The squealing issue is also cured...I think...2watt told me if the squealing problem was still there to cut a certain wire, evidently it cuts the power of the mod kit in half.I dunno but I cut it and it stopped.Gonna leave it run for a couple more days as is and if all is well will hook it in line and see what happens.Shawn
