Anyone tried one of these yet? Thinking about picking one up in about a month when I get my BIG BASE RADIO.It would compliment one of the big black bases very nicely but.....will it sound as good as a D104 Question

Also thought about getting one of the D104 black specials,R&R has one new in box for $150.00 and one like new for $125.00.Thoughts,opinions Question

There are only 2 black specials on evilbay rite now and one is not an original,someone painted one to look like the real deal.Thats an idea,I could paint up the tug8 I have to look like a black special confused

Naaahhh this mic is in too nice a shape to do that too.Maybe I can find a ratty looking one and refinish it.I dunno say what you will but I still would rather pay a little bit more at R&R and be able to mosey on up to the counter and say hey I want to see said mic.Then you can inspect it and determine if its worth while.You take a big chance on evilbay,sometimes things arent as mint as they are presented to be. Suspect

On a serious note.... how bout the Galaxy mics.Echo/power/roger beep or just power/rogerbeep if you like.Are they good quality? I think I would want the one with echo so if I really wanted to be an a$$ I could run double echo for maximum annoyance factor Razz

Yeah I had that feeling.I saw one of them with the little foam ball removed and was not impressed.The actual opening on the mic head is what maybe a 3/8s inch circle? I had to wonder how you would get any good quality audio out of that.I guess I will stick to the tried and true.....the D104.I have one here wired for the radio I want but its a grey base and Im anal about matching up my gear.I thought a black mic would look better.Maybe I just gotta stop being anal huh? I am going to go on a mission this coming flea market season to find some old D104s even if they look ratty and I will make one good one out of whatever I can find,I will refinish the base and stuff too in black to get what I want in a mic.Heck it will be fun and I will be recycling some old junk into something nice and useful.Shawn
