So I have a keydown coming up with 488 soon and would like to key against our very own forum owner Nighthawk soon as well.We all run 5 pills so we are fairly even in the amp department. My question for everyone is should I run one of my many Cobra 29s for these keys or should I put in the General Lee? The Lee is obviously more powerful but the way I understand it all the top dogs in the competition world run Cobras or Unidens.I have heard while exports like the Lee are more powerful they tend to splatter and waste much of the power off frequency. So what do you all think? Cobra or General??????? Shawn
these people who say 10 meter radios are off freq. don't know what they are talking about

There you go again showing that you know nothing about RF theory and how radio's transmit. No one said that export (10 meter radios so you don't get confused) are off frequency. What we said was you are SPLATTERING OFF FREQUENCY. What that means in terms that you can understand is if your POS radio is doing 15-20 watts BIRD only about 6-7 are on the CORRECT channel that you are talking on. The rest of those garbage watts also known as harmonics are off on 10 meters, 6 meters, 12 meters, and depending on what hack job did your radio even down on 2 meters.

But now say my cobra 29 is doing 10 watts BIRD (which it does), I am getting 9-10 watts on the right channel. MORE WATTS ON THE RIGHT FREQUENCY WILL ALWAYS WIN. That is why you don't see export garbage at a competition.
