NEVER go to DTB.

Had a cobra 29 that Nickle B had DTB do work on.
The guy put echo in his radio and told him the only way to adjust it was from inside the radio.
Echo - 40
Talkback - 40
Mic/gear keeper - 50
Peak and tune - 25.00
Told him he has to pay him to adjust the echo if he decides he doesnt like it at another date.
The tune was rediculous, stretched the hell out of the coils, radio was doing 5 watts on the bird 25 peak.Fucking hack.
I put the coils back and retuned it, 11 watts rms bird and over 40 peak - on a scream it would all but peg the 50watt slug on pep! And that's through a low pass filter.

$100.00 in work for what?!
This is what i found:
Echo installed with dual pot control heatshrinked (So it has to be adjusted inside, right????) Dual put had ugly ass old knobs and was bent, no wonder it was put inside.

Talkback for 40 bucks???? A fuckin 68ohm resistor over the grounds of cb/pa plugs. 10 cent part, 2 drops of solder. What the ****?!

Hey, ya know, there are techs, wantabe techs and then there is hackers in it just for the money. I'm not saying blacklist them or not but thats why its VERY important to find a good tech and stay with em.

that big blue bus is making it's way man, a little less than three weeks and I'll be making noise around here again. I've got to get the antenna system finished up and tuned properly, but it's working good for the way it is now.

DTB has always had the same reputation in my mind, much like that quack up in columbia, nj that claims he can make a 3300 hp scream to 100 watts.

all i got to say is that you guys are finally coming around and opening your eyes.. iv saying that these guys are hackers for years and no one ever listens to me...oh well
